It is in San Mateo, CA at the Fairgrounds and starts today through Sunday.
I think there is over 200 exhibitors - the last time I went it was pretty big. There is a section for industry professionals and people can buy without paying taxes - with the assumption that the item will be resold of course (yeah, right). Need a business license to get in though. But the main section where everyone is welcome is the largest section. It takes at least 4 hours for a run through. Less I'd imagine if you went for something specific. Friday is the best time to go, less crowds. Saturday is a mad house.

Otherwise, the prices are very good. It is recommended that one know about quality if buying precious stones and antiques but if buying the semi precious or gold and silver, it is very reasonable. I've seen diamonds up to 7 carats there under heavy observation doncha know.

I love to go for Christmas shopping. They have other things besides gems. They even had hand painted ties once which were very nice!

I might even find some XO jewelry :-)
