Let's see... if you're running a company that believes you're going to take market share from another company then why would you invest in the competitor?

wrt to ASND it actually seems to make sense to invest in CSCO since cisco is spread over many other business areas. Still, if the growth sector (and high margins) is SP and you believe Enterprise sales will suffer - as a company that believes they're taking market share in the SP's - why would you invest in a company that is - in your companies mind - losing market in the high margin side of their business. That's my only point.

As for Chambers - I seriously doubt that he has an investment in ASND...he may in LU since LU is positioned in many other businesses which Csco doesn't compete in - such as fiber and microelectronics. But ASND is a single market company - in a market that Cisco has been targeting. So, for that reason I don't think Chambers would invest in ASND. It would be like betting against you're own team to win the game....
