For those of you with a QCOM phone, here is a handy tip. Punch in 111111, and then press in the jog dial(at least on the 1920 and 2700 this works). Scroll to "version" and that will give you the software version. Then press the jog dial again and that will give you the PRL(preferred roaming list) version. One more press and you are out of that menu. The PRL is what tells your phone who to roam with when you are out of the service area. I think at also updates tower locations in your current service area(?). So, the most current version will give you the best service, especially for those out there doing a lot of roaming. With PrimeCo, I can dial *228 and go through the menu to get an over the air update. With Sprint, some can do this over the air, some can't. I think you dial *2 for Sprint. Not sure about other service providers. If not over the air, go to your nearest Sprint store and they will update the software in just a few minutes. Make sure you write down your current versions and then see if they update. Just trying to keep our phones in tip top working condition!
