Information Architects Announces 'Any Data, Any Where' Capacity for 3Com Palm VII Pda's
Business Wire - June 04, 1999 12:25
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1999--Alydaar Software Corporation (Nasdaq:ALYD) d/b/a/ Information Architects Corporation today announced that it has developed a breakthrough offering which allows consumers to access "any data - any where" and view the information through a 3Com Palm VII.

Information Architects is a registered 3Com Partner.

"Unlike other companies that have developed technologies to browse abbreviated Web pages or receive e-mail through a Palm VII, Information Architects has developed the capacity to access a wide range of data sources including a combination of Web pages, databases, legacy systems, Microsoft Word documents, and PDF files," said Robert Gruder, Chairman and CEO of Information Architects. "Information can be combined from any of the sources and filtered based upon the identity of the user and presented on-the-fly to the Palm VII."

For example, a remote salesman can request price and quantity information for a customer by accessing his Web-based sales force automation (SFA) software through his Palm VII. The salesman can then place the resulting order through his Palm VII that reconciles the information, on the fly, with the SFA software.

Based on Information Architects patent-pending Metaphoria Virtual Web Server Technology, specially designed forms are presented on the Palm VII with the resulting input data passed through the 3Com Web Clipping Proxy and then to the Metaphoria Virtual Web Server. Returned messages are generated by either dynamic code generation or templates, which include imbedded Metaphoria Virtual Web Server directives. The resulting data stream contains a specified subset of HTML 3.2, which is returned to the Palm VII for display.

About Information Architects

Information Architects provides Web based solutions that, regardless of platform, enable real-time access and updates of information from any source platform or system using a standard Internet Web Browser.

The Company's flagship offering, the Metaphoria Virtual Web Server is a patent-pending, open JAVA based internet technology that can take any type of digital information whether it resides in a document, presentation, file, database, or application - no matter what corporate or client machine on which the data resides can be divorced, combined, viewed, and updated from a standard Internet Browser. This technology is allowing customers to make immediate business and purchasing decisions, broaden business opportunities, improve information exchange and collaborate among co-workers, customers, suppliers and partners. Additionally, no restrictions currently exist on the location of the data. This means that data can be combined from multiple Internal and external locations including host servers, Internets, Extranets, and others.

Information Architects was actively involved in developing the Resource Description Framework (RDF) standard, along with IBM, Netscape, Nokia and other contributors. RDF is an official recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) - a worldwide organization that includes over 300 companies and academic institutions. RDF serves as a basis for a wide variety of applications, and is at the core of IA's Metaphoria Syndication Server. RDF provides a robust, flexible, and efficient platform for content syndication that is much superior to other approaches.
