If I understand what the company's said with MicroOS it doesn't matter whether the standard is MP3 or XYZ the device will be able to handle it. If that's true, would you buy an MP3 player, with all the great features in the one's you've shown us, or wait a short time for a device that is programmable to use anyones standard, including its own, EPAC.

Edig's has only been on display once to my knowledge, those who saw it seemed quite impressed. It may have been a prototype, not the production model. Money's not burning a hole in my pocket, I'd wait for the Lucent unit to know I can download what I want, not just a limited selection based on the format I can handle.

If you were buying a car, and several manufacturers offered cars that could only be used in the state they were being delivered in, but one said wait a couple more months, and I'll sell you one that's legal anywhere you want to drive, what would you do.

With all the discussion of music off the web it's barely in its infancy, the fact that it takes a little longer to do it right should not matter that much in the long run.
