Crazy –

From what you've told me and my own discussions with Ric (though our conversation didn't get quite as in-depth as yours), I also think Net Shepherd is well positioned to harness the power of the Internet. Net Shepherd's proprietary technology applies the Internet's vast sum of knowledge to specific requirements in real-time, in ways that are very tangible to the business world and consumers, as well as the sense of neighborhood.

As an archetype of the applications of their technology, I find the Brazilli Mall extraordinarily interesting. The test is a compelling story which exemplifies the ways in which I believe their technology will significantly impact the way in which businesses serve their customer base:

• In this age of superstores and warehouses, the only remaining way retailers can differentiate themselves is through customer service and effectively meeting the exact needs of their customers and even narrowed down to the community in which the retailer operates.

• Smaller retailers cannot always compete with superstores, and there has been a definite shift to patronizing stores which offer the best service, guarantees, et al.

• Conduct market research with other on-line and traditional retailers/servicers to ensure their products equitably rival their competition.

• Empower the consumer to influence, and give feedback on, the quality and range of products/services:
– on their own turf (in their own home), and
– on their own time, with thought and input from all members of the family.

• Make the experience both more enjoyable and productive.

All of the above assists both the business and the consumer, bridging the gap and helping to fill the needs of the community. When you realize that these benefits can be expanded to any size retailer or service organization, whether it is mail order, on-line, or bricks & mortar companies, the value of their technology is considerable, its power overwhelming.

Denise.
