Depends upon the laws in CA - TX is a lenient bankruptcy state - debtor friendly and most judges rule in favor of the debtor; companies in the communications industry have made out like bandits in the past 2 years and although the tactic has shattered shareholders, it is not illegal nor felonious.

Take HARTQ - filed bankruptcy and emerged as another company - stock selling for 1.00 May 1, 1999; trading halted May 1 - new issue came out for same company with same director assets, customer base, etc WITHOUT creditors and old SHAREHOLDERS - began trading at over 15.00 May 2, 1999 - old shares worthless.

Please go to a judicial thread for your concerns - now do you have anything about the COMPANY that I specifically requested?
