Some of the spelling and grammar is excusable, but other mistakes are embarrassing and make me wonder about the education provided by our school system. However, generally I am able to figure out their, there, and they're from the context even if the writer doesn't seem to know the difference.

>>I heard this crazy rumor that the SI board was holding high level discussions on
"Correct Grammar 101" and "Political Theory for Morons". And we thought these
boards were only about stocks...<<

That matches what I've been hearing... Not crazy, I've heard from a reliable source that e***ool is partnering in a distance learning collaboration with SI to make that possible. Turns out stock discussions are the "loss leader" for SI, the real beef of the site will be, as you suggest, grammar and political theory.

Terrific business model don't you think? It's based, I hear, on a cutting edge deep OCR analysis of all posts on SI. Not only have they discovered that grammar sucks on SI but many, many posts are politically not correct. This has lead some to think that SI might be getting YAHOO-ed (a subtle form of hacking that is embedded in the message not the medium).

When a member gets booted from SI (SI jail for a week or so), in order to come back in from the cold, they are compelled to complete the e***ool distance learning package and test out with a certificate. Of course, advertisements within the interactive DL package enhance the revenue stream. I hear there's a 50/50 split on this revenue but I hear Stagger thinks e***ool's take is less.

It's in beta test with some of the malcontents of SI. It remains to be seen if behavior mod has durable effects or whether recidivism plagues the program.

They're getting tough, I hear. I've heard if you go through the SI 12 stride program with the e***ool DL package and you still offend, you're a three strike candidate.

Genuflections and abasement before Jill are out of the question. You are banished in an old tetamentish manner.

e***ool has subcontracted some excellent content developers, I've heard. There are come cutting edge PC specialists from the Pacific coast, SF I believe though it could be Santa Cruz, and grammarians from Iowa are hard at work on drill and kill grammercizes.

LOL, have a good weekend,

Ed

Pssst... don't tell anyone! You'll ruin my contact.

LOL

(disclaimer: all of the above is pure trash talk.)
