NEW YORK, June 4 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs said Friday it set Echostar Communications Corp.'s (Nasdaq:DISH - news) price target for the year 2000 at $150 a share.
Meanwhile, PaineWebber said in a research note Thursday that the National Rural Television Cooperative's suit against rival satellite provider DirecTV, a unit of Hughes Electronics (GMH: news, msgs), may help EchoStar. The NRTC has accused DirecTV of illegal selling premium services HBO and Showtime in NRTC territories.

PaineWebber says "confusion to current or new customers" in NRTC areas over which satellite service is authorized to offer HBO "could drive those customers to EchoStar."
