As the first "verdict" on this matter, Oregon has now set a precedent for others to follow as a guide. This ruling will inherently change the cable landscape and we will see, as a result of this, a surge of alliances and mergers of cable companies with ISP's and portals now that this "sticking" point is removed.
In WGAT's 10k, it plainly states that open access is the key to their future. Now the playing field is level, and the company(s) with the best marketable technology will win. Not those with the biggest alliances. I love WGAT's position here. The smart money (Allen et al) are in the catbird seat at this moment. Like I said before, Allen has the correct vision to bring this convergence home to the consumer, This court victory wins him a heavy-handed bet....at the moment!
