I'm not gonna shoot you down. I don't buy calls or puts because they are an expiring asset. At least if you buy stock, it can go up or it can go down, but you own something. After an option expires, you own nothing. I don't feel like I have a crystal ball, so I don't buy options. Last night, I was itching to short something, but today I am glad I didn't. Every time I feel like I should buy an option, I am later glad I didn't.

Consider a few other possibilities. What if the economy is doing really, really well in a balanced way? What if the world is not going to come to an end after all?
