Re:"I wonder if the K7 intro may "Osborne" the K6-2 and K6-III."

I seriously doubt that. Most purchasers of retail PCs are not the techno experts that fills this thread. Most just walk into a retailer, look at the various offerings, get steered somewhat by the sales force and then buy. Some do ask their more technology aware friends what they should buy or even take those friends along, but the majority do relatively little research. Can't tell you how many times I have heard from otherwise savy and successful adults that they are clueless about what PC to buy. Bottom line. IMHO, the great mass of retail buyers never heard of the K7 or Coppermine or the K8 or Merced. They just need a computer and pop into the store.

The exact opposite, of course, is true of the boxmakers, who are exquisitely aware of the playing field, the players and the devices.

KZNerd - Re: "I wonder if the K7 intro may "Osborne" the K6-2 and K6-III. "

Very good insight !

That's a great analogy.

It could very will apply to the Kmart 63 - but my guess is that Intel's Celery Sticks are doing a number on the K6-2 's.

By the way - I bought an original Osborne 1 PC a couple years ago - if anybody has a version of CP/M on a 5 1/4" disk for the Osborne, please get in touch with me.
