I agree, see my previous post. Eventually, we'll all have just one big fat pipe feeding digital TV, digital local/long distance phone service, internet, etc. etc. into our homes. A "byte meter" will monitor the inflow of bytes just like water, electricity and gas, and federal, state & local governments will be able to collect a "byte tax". Big bucks for whoever owns the pipes, big bucks for those who supply what's flowing through the pipes, big bucks for all the government agencies that can collect taxes on it all. Don't you just love it?
