Howdy, stranger! How is life on the dark side? I still "feel" the good in you! -g- Any how, re. conspiracy, I have several points to address. I will try to make this short. I can't speak for the others, but here is where I stand on conspiracies.

1. I agree that a lot of whining on this thread. (I don't see Kitko so I don't know.)
2. I am under the opinion that markets at large can not be manipulated. Over a short period of time, may be. Over the long run NO WAY.
3. Thinly floated stocks and story stocks with mediocre float can be heavily manipulated by big money.
4. Very very difficult to manipulate behemoths likes of IBM, MSFT and INTC. However, general market movement can be used advantageously to exert a short squeeze in these issues.
5. Engineering stock market rallies via futures purchase is a REAL phenomenon, especially in the recent years. Me thinks that not just the Feds but also some big investment banks are doing this.
6. I am almost convinced that there is a deliberate attempt to keep POG below certain level, if not yank it down to zero. I think loose money policies of the central bankers is more to do with than Gold carry trade.

You might ask - if the game is rigged why not choose another game. Logical suggestion. But, in my Masters program I chose a particular branch of Civil Engineering as my major while at least two others are or very hot. I don't like the pain but I would rather be a contrarian than a trend follower.
