Clearly the veracity of the ideas. People come in all shapes and sizes and levels of "veracity." However, if a number of these self-evidently different people reach the same conclusions independently, then that lends credence to the ideas. It certainly doesn't prove them, but it does argue in their favor.

On reflection (and a quick trip to Dict.org), "veracity" seems to be more applicable to people than ideas, so perhaps "legitimacy" is a better term. Nonetheless, the same point holds.

I'd love to continue this, but daylight is waning and it's frisbee golf time. I'll be back later. Until then...
