I guess there is both a lot of confusion and company positioning going on and a common interest to make XML practical and therefore uniform. Microsoft has a site at: msdn.microsoft.com

I read somewhere that Microsoft opened up a new site named something like www.biztalk.net that has a depository for schemas.

I think the issue will be resolved - just hope this doesn't turn into another area where companies spar off on the standard or declare that they invented it and then try to lock it up with patents and copyrights.

XML enabled EDI should replace proprietary systems - there is too much savings and utility in it to be defeated. (I hope ; ^)
