re: What does the manufacturing of Frito Lays have to do with computers?

The answer is elementary. They both involve extensive involvement with "chips" ... <vbg>

Maybe Michael now thinks that AMD, Intel and Frito Lay are all chips so what difference does it make hiring a bag popper to run the World Wide operations?? Maybe after investors had time to think about it the idea may have been a little weird.

Hi Ed, any thoughts as to why Dell hired an executive from Frito Lay? I believe the position is the World Wide Operations Executive VP. What does the manufacturing of Frito Lays have to do with computers?

Well, Stock Bull, here's how it goes in the interim.

Take a bag of those party-size Fritos and sprinkle them liberally (like, in a heap) on a plate. Grate 1/2 pound of sharp cheddar cheese on them and douse them thoroughly with your favorite hot sauce (my personal preference "Woman Scorned" hot sauce...it'll incinerate your net worth faster than you can say "short put"). Microwave for 45 seconds or until you get even.

And with a big glass of water and today's closing prices, take 'em one at a time. BTW, you don't have to finish the plate. If you have neighbors you want ring the "time to go home" bell for, just reheat the plate. Ten minutes later, you can go upstairs....

Best regards,

Mark A. Peterson

Gee what a bunch of silly responses! However, some of the responses were right on target.

This executive is an operations executive.
These guys are great making and tracking complex schedules and riding herd on the worldwide operations. It does not matter whether it is chips or PC's. I think DELL has been needing to add some more brawn to the executive bench.
