What happens, if the stock craters downto $1 and the convertible investors sit on their shares at $3. ???

Then they lose money. With 109 sellers there could be quite a rush for the exits. I don't know why they aren't selling NOW. Maybe they can't find enough shares to borrow (actually, that's guaranteed since the number of shares to be sold is many times the float).
