Lets not talk in a Generic way about Pepsi...Frito Lay (the most profitable and successful Pepsi division) is known to have some of the most sophisticated and efficient global operations. In fact, one of the best Harvard Case Studies I encountered in business school was on Frito Lay. MSD and his top management team seem to like to recruit new blood from a variety of high performing organizations. DELL can afford to be selective and I'm sure they did their homework before bringing in a high level executive from Frito Lay. IMO, MSD is very interested in developing best practices that may not even be in use in the hardware industry. Why do what everyone else is doing? DELL likes to constantly improve and they go after the talent to help them do just that.

Best Regards,

Scott
