arcticwarrior, On Canadian rig count, well stated. Also people were looking for independents with large gas positions. Meridian Resources (TMR) is about 75% natural gas production currently.... I used to travel to Alaska monthly on work. I always liked to return phone calls about 10:30 in the evening Alaska time. That way you'd leave messages on your business associates' phones at 2 or 3 in the morning local time in the Lower 48. People would think that you work all night, heh-heh...Then head over to the local saloon for a beer.... I remember though coming out of Chilkoot Charlie's after a couple of beers around midnight- and seeing the local high school kids playing basketball on a nearby court! I could never get quite used to that, bright daylight at midnight.... But the good news is that if you are out in the bush and have to get up in the middle of the Alaska "night" to pee-pee at least it's harder for the bull moose or grizzly bears to catch you literally with your pants down....
