mark,

Actually I have. I invested in Biomatrix before they changed their symbol and have followed them on and off since. Haven't looked at them recently. Their arthritis product(synvisc) is co-marketed by Wyeth Ayerst/American Home and has done well recently. There may be some competitive products available in the future. Recently spoke with an Orthopedic surgeon that does a lot of speaking for the company. Seems that while the product is effective and relatively safe, it has caused some severe swelling in a few patients almost to the point where their knees swelled up like footballs and had to be drained. I saw some of the clinical pictures of this in a presentation he made and it was startling. The newer products coming out have a lower molecular weight and may inject easier and not cause the same side effects.

Either way, the milestone payments have really helped move the stock forward. I also was aware of the possibility that they were going to file for the use of lip augmentation, something like what collagen is used for now. Not sure where that's at, but it certainly would expand the market and presumably the stock price.
