Well, let's hope he is from the good end of the Pepsi gene pool <ggg>
In any case, it looks like he sees the writing is on the wall and Pepsi will only continue to implode so he is jumping ship.

Extra! Extra! Looking past the gloom and doom

When companies issue positive reports that fall on deaf ears, that's my chance to hop on for the ride. And I'm hearing good news from Intel, Coca-Cola and Pixar.

PepsiCo hasn't done anything so dramatic, but the company's capital spending plans show a decided tilt toward the Frito-Lay snack food business. To compete with Coca-Cola as a global brand, PepsiCo would have to spend billions to upgrade its second-rate (only in comparison to Coca-Cola, mind you) international distribution system. The money and attention that Coca-Cola poured into gaining the strongest local bottling partners in country after country over the last 10 years has left PepsiCo faced with a spend-or-retreat decision. And after looking at the potential returns from dominating the world's markets for salted snacks vs. duking it out with Coca-Cola, the managers at PepsiCo have seen the numbers on the wall.
