That's not the way I read that. Here's quote from headline.
"Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing Company stated flatly that are not
interested in buying the Cyrix microprocessor division
from National Semiconductor, though they are
increasingly serious about the microprocessor business."

Someone stated on Yahoo thread that if they bought Cyrix, they would be in direct competition with customers. NOT GOOD. That is why they are not interested in Cyrix division. NSM may have to spin off Cyrix. May not be what WS wants to here, but that's business.....

Yea right, like Worldcom wasn't interested in buying Skytel last week. Do you believe everything you read, especially when deal talks are in progress?

Jozef, re: "TSMC not interested in NSM fab" Thank you for the link. A short time back, many here razzed me for stating TSM's disinterest in NSM's fab. A little vindication goes a long way.
