Gary,

re: Camp Worthington

Nice pix. There are some serious gadgeteers in your group. Somebody with enough vision to buy a Kodak DC 25!

I saw you hiding under a tarp trying to decipher the text on a color screen. Yes, it is hard with many of the new color LCD's to use them outdoors (unless it is pitch black outside). Compaq and a few other manufacturers employ a new technology that requires less backlighting and actually has a slit-like portal that enhances screen illumination in direct sunlight. It has received good reviews based on some of the messages I have read on some of the WinCE message boards. The only problem is that it is less brilliant indoors.

compaq.com

from a message board...

I've been in software development for over 40 years, but while I try out every new PDA for our University's use, I just don't have time to disassemble everything...(in order to turn on/off the backlight)...when I can ask if someone has already done it. Having been born in the 30's I find the Compaq to be almost unusable inside our offices, but great outdoors. Unfortunately, we need indoor over outdoor."

Gary, perhaps he could borrow your rubber mallet.

re: Photopoint

The photopoint site is free. I think that represents a good value. Actually, it doesn't get much better than that. I suspect that they will make money with banners and eyeballs. The entire service is designed to run without any human interference. I have had great luck with it and recommend it highly if you have friends or family that are into digital photography.
