I see that what was posted was a series of negative thoughts about lawyers by a bunch of famous people, from William Shakespeare to Will Rogers. There was no version of the broad with the dog on top of her joke; though I think you experienced it as similarly distressing.

The quotes were insensitively posted, by definition, since they hurt you, but surely you don't believe Lather set out to hurt you; they were posted, my guess is, more to interest a friend, or, maybe at the worst, to tease a friend a little, than to call a friend a liar or cheat or thief.

But heck, what do I know? Maybe Lather is a vile, hateful, sadistic person who wanted to cut his friend to the quick? (We know that's not true.)

I suspect that no woman would embroider Christopher's broad/dog joke on a pillow, but that many lawyers would embroider these quotes on a pillow and toss them on the couch for a lark. The list happens to be sociologically interesting. Of course it's ridiculous, if the items are taken literally and proposed seriously, but its existence is interesting, the fact that such views have been espoused by so many thinkers (mostly humorously, of course, but nonetheless) is interesting and a valid topic for discussion, I think. Not a long discussion, the issues are too simple and easily explicated to warrant spending a whole lot of time on them, I think. But I am just saying to you that posting that list wasn't, in my opinion, a personal attack on you. It might conceivably have been, had it been posted snidely to some enemy of yours; but it was sent by Lather to a friend. (Unless you had become enemies when I wasn't looking; if that's so, then I'd agree it was intended hostilely.)

EDIT: I just read the post Lather put on this morning, and see that it pretty much confirms what I assumed was his impulse.
