Neocon, the reason no media outlets mention this (gays dressed up as nuns thing) as some sort of "excuse" for Lott (who btw as the leader represents all republicans), is because it is an esoteric, inconsequential matter which Lott is using as an "out" for the behavior dictated to him by the far right. He has to say something after all, and there is no excuse for excluding someone from any governmental post because he/she is gay. Those gay guys that dress up as nuns come out at Halloween. Shall we review everybody's halloween costume for the last 10 years and based on that decide who is appropriate to run for re-election? A few years ago the president of one company I worked for dressed up as a flasher - is this significant - maybe we should arrest him for that? I said earlier that republicans couldn't dig themselves in any deeper what with their abortion fanaticism but indeed they have - and I didn't think it possible! (this story has major coverage in the bay area btw) heh.
