John of course is right. Businesses like CDN are not run to benefit shareholders. The intended beneficiary is management. If shareholders are benefited as well it is an incidental benefit. Therefore it is better to view CDN as a trading vessel rather than a serious long term investment. This latest dip was artificially induced by the company so that the price could fall as far as possible and options could be re-priced. Once that has been accomplished, everything will be fine again, and the earnings will be on track for awhile again, presumably returning the price to the twenties and thirties. After these options have been exercised, eventually another re-pricing opportunity will present itself.
