OT: Huh? I'm simply talking about a definition of a word. How does my example regarding the definition of the word billion lead to to your examples about the flat earth, etc.? These were hypotheses or beliefs thought to be fact. The word, millennium, is like any other noun and is not a hypothesis.
All I'm saying is let the year 2000 herald a new millennium and I'm sure people will still understand.

Steven Call re: (there is no zero AD or BC) so this one won't end til 12/31/01.
Happened on this one and have to comment.
I agree that our calendar started with year one, but wasn't it a full year, ending on December 31? And didn't the tenth year end on December 31, 10?
Therefore the 2000th year must end on Dec 31, 2000? Make sense?

ot ot ot AND A MESSAGE FROM SOME FLOUNDER This is what I use. Use smaller numbers. Tell them in 10 years a decade is over with, but you have to live though the 10th year to have the decade finished before a new one begins in the 11 year. After I tell them that they stop rolling their eyes and go hmmm some believe me some are brain dead. <ggg>

Greg--->My spider sense is telling me that DELL has made a bottom. We need news to move it forward again.
