It doesn't mean that he/she didn't or will not make money on that short. ATHM did run 40 points higher after, and there's some more time left, more likely, a cover has been made in between. The point is the market will make everyone of us to be humble, especially for those TA oriented.

There is nothing to brag about. In fact, RMBS will have higher beta than ATHM, IMO. I wish not, but same thing could happen to you.
