Hi Bill, One way or the other, this is helping my net worth nicely.

In my case, a split helps me by cutting down the size of my trade range a bit. I attempt to keep the size of my transactions to 5% or less of the total VTSS holding and also like to trade minimums of 100 share lots. With more shares this is easier.

By keeping the trade size small, it also keeps the trade range smaller as well - thus I get more frequent trades. With each "round trip" worth about 30% in capital gains (LIFO) the more, the merrier!

Of course, all these little trades are in and around my core holding which is in place for the long term. My initial purchase (1000 shares) was in 1993 and then an additional amount (4000 shares) in late 1994. So far, VTSS has been one of the best investments I've ever made.

Best regards, Tom
