In every news story I've seen the prices have been less than half of that. I believe that what you're posting are the non-upgrade prices.

And remember, all the know-it-all computer journalists turned their nose up at Win98, saying that if you had Win95 the only reason to upgrade was for USB and FAT32 and if you had Win95B there was no reason to upgrade at all. Then remember that Win98 turned into the best selling OS of all time.
