As far as I can tell, DLJ direct is the best online broker for shorting. They get their loans from Pershing.

Yamner also uses Pershing. Both brokers are superior for shorting.

So far, I've been able to short all kinds of OTC BB frauds that were never shortable at most brokers.

DLJ direct started as PC financial network on AOL, and was bout the first truely online, low cost trading option. DLJ had an interest and bought the whole thing out and re-branded it. they have not had the horror stories tha e-trade and even shawb have had. sold. nice windows winsock trading software, level II option, etc. customer service varies from great to abysmal (better range than most!)
