Dr. Zax -- Very interesting scenario for AOL - SUNW - NSCP alternative OS / means of distribution laid out in your link to earlier post in April. As per Vendit's comments, would be great to see it happen....

** OT: BTW, do you see that scenario or the POSSIBILITY of that scenario impacting on outcome of MSFT monopoly trial ? Hate to see MSFT get off the hook with a hypothetical scenario masking what was, IMO, a restrictive, predatory anti-competitive practice.

The relatively high proportionate cost of MSFT's "contributions" in sub $1000 computers shows just what monopoly power can do for selective strategic pricing.

Right, the "true" MSFT story: 'How to build up 22 billion in cash through cut-throat competitive pricing and just barely survive through the wonders of 'innovation' "!'

(I think one reason they're spending it so fast is they have to know it looks pretty suspicious -- its' the elephant in the room -- how did the elephant get there ?. Anyway 5 billion to T seemed a little over the top.)

George
