how doy you trade with ecn,s exclusivly. from what you are saying that is the way to go. also is there any actual computer tradeing any where.. by that i mean no human intervention in matching buys and sells. just a computer exicuting in real time?

Hi Palo Alto Trader; The place I trade at has just radically changed their commissions. They have reduced commissions per share to a very low amount, but they have added what is essentially a "seat fee" of $125 per day.

Given the number of trades I make, the overall effect is to reduce my commissions. But it is going to chase away the guys who come in and only do a couple position trades per day. What kind of a commission structure are you operating under? If you're interested, I'll type in the new one they just implemented, though it is kind of complicated...
