Eric:

Thank you for you're insight! You're posting was really informative.

By your estimate, is takes about 15 MB / stock / day. Wow, that's not much. Even smaller if you take just the part of the day that you're interested in (a couple megs).

If CyberCorp were to make archives available of just the popular "daytrading" stocks like the I-nets or stocks with high volume/volatility that wouldn't be too much data at all (lets say 20-40 stocks).

We obviously won't know the real data storage costs unless CyberCorp tells us.

If it were my Birthday and I had my choice, I'd like to see the tier 1 i-nets be available as archived data (AMZN, AOL, YHOO, EBAY, PCLN, CMGI, RNWK, ATHM/XCIT) and the top 10 volume stocks and top 10 price change (based on percent). Personally, I'd also need data on /spm9, /ndm9, $trin, $tick, $compx and $indu...

How neat would it be to hit their FTP sight and get a playback archive
of the one stock that you'd like to practice daytrading for a particular day?

CyberCorp could even sell a CD of data, or charge per download ($$).
Believe me, I would gladly pay a fee for access to archieved replay data (per stock, per day).

Thanks again for your input!

Fred
