Hi Rip,

To clarify my last question, will I need to re-string my cable that is in my home from the new MSO cable line to the connection on my
cable modem?
If you are lucky, no. Do you get satisfactory service on all of the drops at present? One of the issues that I have not seen addressed is the potential problem with amplifiers in the home side of the cable plant on the new HFC systems. Perhaps Frank or ahhaha have some insight here. Signal attenuation is a problem if too many devices are on a home network and adding an Internet connection will definitely add to the load.

If I have to restring cable that seems to be a significant time
consuming truck roll effort?

Yup, and don't even think about using the neighborhood handyman.

If a new line is necessary, does DSL have the same problem?
Nope, different problem set, and don't even think about using the neighborhood handyman.

Best, Ry
