SCumbria - <Theoretically speaking, what would happen to the price of INTC if some killer K7 benchmarks were released?>

Probably go down for a few days. But, as Amy has said, PIII vs. K7 isn't the only thing long termers look at with regard to INTC. AMD is one dimensional. INTC is not.

Also, killer benchmarks does not preclude AMD being able to successfully transition two fabs to .18. I.e., games nowhere close to over, even if "killer" benchmarks are announced, AMD still has to demonstrate they can manufacture the thing. And at 1M units this year by AMD's own estimates, actual downside risk to INTC is minimal this year.

What is it with you and INTC's stock price anyway? Why not worry about how to get AMD's stock price up, instead of worrying about how INTC's price could go down?

Hi Scumbria,

I had said, "Intel will eventually head up, although it may not be as soon as June/July etc."

But, as you know, even if AMD released a KILLER K7, the subsequent waves of Intel's next releases in the high-end, have essentially turned AMD commons into risky options, with a short-term potential, but an expiry which may be rather permanent this time.
