When you are rewarded for "good" the right behavior it is called positive reinforcement. The idea is that if you find it rewarding to do the right thing you are likely to repeat the behavior, seeking further reward. The behaviorist expects you to associate the "right behavior" as rewarding and continue performing it on your own.

We also use negative reinforcers (punishment) in our society. If a child performs the "wrong behavior" in class. His teacher might keep him in for recess. It is hot and uncomfortable to sit in the classroom while the other children are out playing. So the child will work hard to get the behavior "right" in order to have the punishment removed. In this way a negative is reinforcing the right behavior.

<<the best thing ...you feel good about it.>> I agree, I think...

<<"**it happens". Live with it! >> Maybe, I was hoping somebody would attempt causal attribution.
