>> I guess I take your remark as a compliment.

As you should, Ausdauer. Your nomination is proof that technical writing can be interesting and even captivating as well as informative.

>> I also do not take exception to the implication that I have been planted by SanDisk to pollute web sites with unsolicited posts which hype the company or present it in an unrealistically favorable light.

I intended that as a compliment to the depth of your understanding of the topic. I've been in the semiconductor industry for over 30 years, and been subjected to countless product marketing presentations from highly paid execs that don't hold a candle to your work.

>> To suggest that it is a sanitized weapon of propaganda pulled from cold storage and stamped with the approval of the SanDisk Board of Directors is ridiculous.

You need to turn down the sensitivity on your personal attack detector. Better yet, you should use your presentation to convince the BOD of SanDisk that they need to hire you as their PR Director.

>>I did take offense to this comment <my Newbie Guide message> , because it was evident from my original post to this thread that I had already read the book.

Way out of line, Aus; you're being egocentric as well as sensitive. If that post were meant for you, I would have posted it to your name instead of to myself. I re-publish the Newbie Guide every week or two so that newcomers to the thread and lurkers can gain an understanding of our methodology and terminology.

Congrats on a nifty presentation.

Frank

btw, imo your presentation was captivating because of the writing, not because of the product or the company. IMHO, Umbrella and Learning Curve Theories, which are ingrained in the industry, have made semiconductors a sector for lemmings, and sub-optimal turf for long term investors.
