vol, whether the 40% to 20% growth is real or not (you did see the ??? didn't you?) doesn't matter. people are selling b/c they KNOW dell's growth has been slowing and, given the overall pc industries condition, they BELIEVE it will continue to do so.

i agree. not b/c it happened yesterday. but b/c of supply / demand imbalances that have caused many big time growers to stop growing and some even lose money. sure, a company may sacrifice themselves at the alter so a dell can continue to grow. however, that kind of altruism isn't readily out in the real world.

the other problem dell faces are the absurd expectations of the dell heads. since they bid his price up so much, along w/ many other boxmakers (at least in the past), the companies had to ramp output and hope somebody would buy it at high prices. they didn't. so they lowered them.

anything can happen in a bubble market. however, i do think dell no longer has a love in with investors. it is now a regular company. after all those years and years and years of awsome appreciation, i'd venture to guess that the average dell investment is about breakeven.

the herd ALWAYS buys high in mass amounts. they USUALLY use margin to do it, too.
