Raymond, you indicated that the cable lines from the curb into my home do not need to be completely changed to new lines. Does everyone concur with this? I think if correct, this could be a substantial advantage to cable modem service once we go to a "plug n' play" type format. In a recent article I was reading about DSL from this thread, it was indicated that DSL required a new wall jack and presumably some interior re-wiring. Ease of installation for the masses will be a significant selling point for cable modems. Anyone agree that cable modem services will be easier to install once your home is passed and you buy a "plug n' play" modem?

As for the Portland case, this will be a negative for the stock value until a resolution of the issue. No one will be able to force open access, however, it could stall the deployment of the service in some areas. T could stop some of that thinking with a multi-million lawsuit against Portland as a taking. Portland has probably bit off more than it can handle. But again the issue is whether this will delay deployment.
