Dear Lather, I understood your apology to be unconditional, and that, in my mind, made it genuine. When I read the post that offended me, what I felt was uncomprehending, shocked hurt. I thought you were expressing anger and aggression to me in a veiled manner, and I did not know what I had done to elicit such a gesture. After reading what others had to say, and also discussing it with Chris, I realized that I abreacted to what most would perceive as inoffensive humor. There was no way in the world for you to know that I had reached the breaking-point on lawyer jokes. I also understand that your sense of humor is more robust than mine. I hope that you understand that my apology was unconditional and genuine. I will stick around, thank you.
