Clinton should make his case public since he is making public appointments based on affirmative action. If he is going to make these kinds of controversial decisions while ducking debate, he comes off continuing to be looking as "someone unwilling to stand up for principle or to pay the price". I haven't read much about his "gay appointment" except on this thread and I don't have any objection to his appointment. I presume he's a wealthy campaign contributor which qualifies him as much as most diplomatic posts.
