Thanks Truedog, A few years ago I read a column by Richard Reeves, I believe, I'm not certain it was him.. but anyway, He quoted some numbers about how much the United States gives in true humanitarian aid to other countries. It was quite dismal compared to other so called developed countries.. ranking 8th or ninth in per capita giving.. The point I'm trying to make, the Americans are led to believe by their leadership they are the most giving country on the planet and so the people BUY it because everyone WANTS to believe GOOD exists within them, SO without SELF EXAMINATION they go along. Thats the EASY WAY .. Well IMO, most of our giving is with strings, a base here, a dictator there.. So when a Kosovo type incident comes along, and Jamie, et al. make grave pronouncements about the Need for our violent intervention In the Name of Good, WE buy it.. Because we can only do right... Right? So what is our agenda?? I don't have a clue, and I admit it.. Do we want to keep the Military-Industrial Complex, Well and thriving, I don't know.. Do We need live targets to do this.. Do we want to destablize the entire region down to the oil rich Caspian Sea? ' Do we want to prove the legitamacy of groups like NATO in the post cold war? BTW, What LEGAL right Has NATO?. A gang of nations getting together has no legal right to impose their agenda on another.. LIke a street gang imposing protectionism on a shop keeper.. Pay up or get out out.. It comes to mind, What if the states of Washington, Oregon and California formed PCAT (Pacific Coast Alliance Treaty). They Started to bomb Boise, the capital of Idaho, because the Idaho authorities wanted to clamp down on the Ruby Ridge type charactors in Northern Idaho..Because they wanted to break away and form an Arayan nation.. PCAT thought it was a good idea, because they could gain control of the rich mineral deposits in Northern Idaho by supporting these jokers... Anyway you get the idea, They BOMBED because of no legal right, but could get it AWAY with it.. SO MUCH stronger. The three states of PCAT vs. Idaho.. no contest.... Just remember folks, Might is not always Right.. Good night.. the coug..
