Hello Yaacov. Sorry for being so late. I was on a 1 week mini vacation. Wow. AOL and the nets went wild while I was gone. Are you still in AOL or did you bail last week? It looks a bit better today. For someone having NO AOL, early this morning was certainly a great buying opp. for the long haul. I am a little burnt on my outlook for the near term. But for the third qtr, AOL and the nets should be doing great again. Hopefully. Maybe the old highs may not be reached again until next year. But then I do own AOL for the long term unless something happens that will change my mind. With 1600 sh. you can imagine that I was fit to be tied with this drop from 175. To your question why AOL does not buy a baby bell or a cable company I can only say what I hear or see. I think Steve Case has gone the route of trying to get access to the cable industry via regulation. And AOL has connections with a baby bell. Bell Atlantic. They will roll out DSL later this summer and this should help AOL tremendously. As long as you can make deals, why pay a high sum for something you can get cheaper? AOL has lots of cash and I am sure that S.Case knows what he is saving it for. There is still plenty of stuff around that can be bought if necessary. I think all those analysts are jumping the gun on this cable stuff. I don't think it's a great imminent thing. Time will tell and I am sure that AOL will get with it. I guess you have heard of all this free ISP stuff in England. AOL will one day probably charge no fee for ISP. It will make more money on commerce and advertising to make up for this. Here is some idea of what AOL owns. I have not had time to locate all the cos. that AOL owns. This page will give you an idea. AOL bought Moviefone just lately and it seems to be doing great.
