Gary Smith said he placed a stop-loss buy at 116 1/4 for AOL, just above the congestion.

I think he got to be stopped out. Another thing needs to be noted is that his time frame is very short, he usually covers within few days, just like he covered ELNK next Monday right after he was short Friday.
