Tai Jin is correct, you can do that too (place your order to sell above the ask). It's OK to do that in a hot/screaming market; be careful though if things are quieter -- you're advertising that you're wanting to sell.

I have been filled a lot of times "through" the inside market, with an offer above the inside (low) mm offer... when they come through it and "hit" you like sharks, you know they are hot to buy the stock.
