Old Man, your causal analysis is generally rejected. Unless you can clearly show the filiation of the ideas, it is just as like that both events were outcomes of an environment or an even earlier idea. When Leibniz claimed to have invented the calculus 9 years after Newton had used his "method of fluxions" both of them failed to recognize that they had derived many of their ideas from Archimedes (who almost got the calculus 1900 years before.
