Announces New Microwave Patent and Developments for ESD Materials TAUNTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 2000--Advanced Deposition Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTC)(BSI:DTI) d/b/a A.D.TECH, announced today that it has received notice of allowance from the United States Patent office that it's patent claims entitled "MICROMESH MATERIAL FOR HEATING WITH MICROWAVE ENERGY AND FOOD PACKAGES MADE THEREFROM" have been fully accepted. This patent is expected to formally issue before the end of 2000. A.D.TECH developed this new thin metallized film substrate to compliment its many microwave patents and to maintain is technology leadership for microwave food heating packages and related applications. The Company believes this new technology has the potential to replace and outperform many existing materials presently used for microwave heating of pizza, popcorn, chicken, pastries and breaded products. In 1995 and 1996, A.D.TECH received patents for new microwave heating films that were subsequently sold and cross licensed to James River Corporation in 1996 in a transaction valued in excess of $1,000,000. These earlier patents have since been transferred to Graphics Packaging International Corp. (NYSE:GPK) as a result of their acquisition of a portion of James River Corporation's paperboard and microwave packaging business. Additionally, the Company disclosed it has developed and is filing a patent for ESD applications. This new proprietary metallized thin film is intended for use in electrostatic protective enclosures used for circuit boards, memory chips and semiconductor packaging. The need and demand for improved electrostatic, moisture, and triboelectric protection increases as circuits, memory chips and microprocessors are operating at lower voltages for many handheld devices. A.D.TECH believes its new materials provide superior performances over conventional solutions for this rapidly growing market. Advanced Deposition Technologies, Inc. is a technology and market leader for metallized thin films, coatings and components thereof. The Company has primary product divisions in markets for electronic capacitors, microwave food packaging and electronic packaging materials selling in over fifty countries along with subsidiaries in Spain and Malaysia. The Company owns or has licenses to more than 36 patents and 10 patents pending. On a selective basis the Company licenses its proprietary thin film technologies and patents to partners who can accelerate revenue and earnings growth of A.D.TECH's unique products and technologies on a global basis.
