These fields include Indexing, Search & Retreival; Business Intelligence (BI); Document Management (DM); and Knowledge Management (KM). A brief definition of an EIP might be "An application to enable companies to unlock internally and externally stored information, and provide users a single gateway to personalized information needed to make informed business decisions". For Knowledge Workers, an EIP should provide: Single Login Unified Search Personalization Application Integration Collaboration Tools For IT departments, an EIP should provide: Security Scalability Openness I have created this thread for the discussion of the EIP market as a whole and the companies that provide products and technologies needed to create EIPs. By pooling the information and expertise in EIPs that is currently spread over many other threads it is my belief that we can collectively synthesize new knowledge.

SI - Enterprise Information Portals (EIP)
